4th Conference on eServices in European Civil Registration
The annual RISER Conference on eServices in European Civil Registration will take place this year from 9.-10.10.2008 at the cityhall of Schöneberg in Berlin, Germany.
Sharing information across borders is becoming more important for both the public and private sector in Europe. The recent eGovernment initiatives of the European Commission such as eIdentity and Services Directive are challenging the existing administrative structures in the Member States. Especially in the area of population registration new mechanisms for national and cross-border information exchange have to be defined by the Member States. As a platform for stakeholders in European civil registration, representatives of local, national and EU administrations and cooperating economies the 4. Conference on eServices in European Civil Registration aims to find answers for the actual challenges in civil registration.
Main conference topics these year are:
- Population registration: central or decentral approaches?
- Latest developments in European population registration systems
- Enforcing cross-border data protection in Europe
- Existing and future European registry information services
- EU Services Directive and European eIdentity Management
The conference programme gives an overview of the addressed issues.
For the first time the conference offers this year an exhibition of companies and organisations involved in civil registration. The exhibition gives the opportunity to deepen issues of the conference and to discuss topics with experts in more detail.
